L’Institut Guinot – Paris was founded by French biochemist Rene Guinot, who introduced a revolutionary professional skin care treatment, Cathiodermie, now known as Hydradermie, in the 1960’s. It was the first facial to use mild galvanic and high frequency currents to deep cleanse, ionise and oxygenate the skin.
Guinot is one of the first professional skincare companies to include the ‘cellular life complex’ into skincare products. This complex of 56 vitamins, proteins and amino acids was developed in a hospital burns unit to help repair skin.

Practised 5,000 years ago in China, reflexology, or zone therapy, is the diagnosis and treatment of conditions by massaging and applying pressure to areas or zones on the foot. It is believed that certain organs of the body have pressure points which correspond with zones on the feet. Massaging these specific areas on our feet can manipulate the body’s internal energy force having a positive effect on our bodies by stimulating the body’s own natural ability to heal itself. Reflexology can be extremely relaxing and often promotes a feeling of calmness and well-being.

Foot problems are very common and can affect us at any age and at anytime in life. We tend to take our feet for granted until the foot causes us pain. This can seriously impact on our day-to-day routine, hindering mobility and quality of life. It is therefore essential that we care for our feet, especially the elderly and those suffering from conditions such as diabetes.
A Foot Health Practitioner is a qualified practitioner who can provide regular foot care and maintenance to your feet. They assess the condition of your feet and treat accordingly in a non-invasive way. In some situations, they will refer you if necessary. In order to work on your feet and understand foot care related issues and the processes which must occur to keep the feet fully functional, the Foot Health Practitioner is trained to understand the six systems of the body and the effect these systems have on your feet.
The Foot Care Practitioner is able to treat a range of complaints including thickened nails, corns and callus as well as providing general nail/foot maintenance and care. They can give you valuable foot care advice and recommend and sell professional foot care products to you.
